Deloris “Sis” M. (Filz) Cowan, age 94, passed away March 17, 2018. She was born October 2, 1923, daughter of the late Marvin and Rozella (Smith) Filz. Deloris married Robert A. Cowan in 1958 and the couple were happily married for 48 years.

Deloris worked at the Institute of Paper Chemistry and at Kimberly-Clark until her retirement in 1961.

Sis and Bob enjoyed traveling the Midwest for 25 years, collecting and selling antiques. Once they were retired, they enjoyed spending the winter months in McCallen, TX.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Merril “Sonny” (Wahneta) Filz, Marvin “Phat” (Doris) Filz, and Myron “Bud” (Carmen) Filz.

She will be missed by her nieces, nephews, and the staff and patients at Willow Lane.

Friends may call at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 404 W. Lawrence St., Appleton, on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 9:30 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Fr. Jim Leary officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. The family would like to extend special thanks to Willow Lane and ThedaCare, Appleton, for the kindness and wonderful treatment given to Deloris in her golden years.
