Deloris Chizek

February 24, 1939 — January 23, 2019

Deloris M. Chizek, age 79, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at home, in the arms of her loving family. She was born February 24, 1939, daughter of the late William and Florella (Geiger) Stephan.

On October 24, 1959, she was united in marriage to Edward Chizek, having celebrated 52 years of marriage prior to Edward's death on December 13, 2011. Deloris and Ed worked together for many years in the family business.

Deloris adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent time watching the kids play in the family pool, attending academic and sporting events, even though she hated sports. With years of photographs Deloris and her husband would take, she made scrapbooks for each grandchild and great-grandchild. Deloris earned her nickname “Donut Grandma” by dropping off donuts at her great-grandchildren’s house. She enjoyed playing cards and boardgames with friends and family. Deloris spent time and money on gambling weekends with close friends. She also traveled with farmers on the bum. She enjoyed her daily shows: Price is Right, Day of our Lives, Reba, and Golden Girls. Deloris enjoyed her ice cream just as much as her son and chocolate as much as her daughter.

Survivors include her children: Edward (Barbara) Chizek, Allan (Carla) Chizek, Cindy (Jerome) Conradt, Sandy (Cary) Van Camp, and Joy Hofacker; grandchildren: Elizabeth (Jason) Brunkey, William (Barbara) Chizek, Crystal and Johanna Chizek, Aaron, Jordan and Austin Conradt, Chiara and Chase Van Camp; great grandchildren: Lilyn and Ethan Brunkey; brother, Tom (Pat) Stephan; sisters-in-law;Dorothy (Michael) TockeyandAgnes Chizek.

Preceded in death by her husband, Edward Chizek; mother and father, William and Florella Stephan; grandson, Zachary Chizek; brothers: Donald (Betsy) Stephan, Billy (Shirley) Stephan; sister, Lorraine (Robert) Schmidt; brother in-law, Bill Chizek; and sister-in-law, Cecilia (George) Winterstein.
