Dean R. Thiel, age 73, received his Lord's call and went to his heavenly home on Sunday, May 25th, 2025 peacefully surrounded by his family. Dean was born on March 25th 1952 to the late Ronald and Audrey (Kiser) Thiel in Appleton, WI.
Dean graduated from Seymour High School in 1970 and NWTC Sturgeon Bay campus in 1971 graduating with a diploma in Diesel Mechanics. He worked in the farm agricultural business for 41 years as a mechanic and later as a service manager for Sherman Implement and now Service Motors in Seymour.
He was very involved in the Town of Seymour Rural Fire Department serving as a firefighter and Secretary/Treasurer and the Town of Seymour Board as Chairman and Supervisor. Dean loved pro-stock and super stock tractors in which he participated by pulling, wrenching, and just watching. He had a love for travel and recently took his family to Greece and Rome to celebrate their wedding anniversary.
Dean is survived by his wife Suzanne (Sue) celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this year; daughter, Shari (Scott) Thiel Blake and their children: Brett and Kaitlynn; son, David (Amanda) Thiel and their children: Alyssa, Miranda (Leng), and Owen; daughter, Kari (Chad) Hougaard and their children: Courtney and Ashley. Also his brother Gary (Susan) Thiel and Sue's siblings: Melvin Busch, Charles Busch, Charlene Busch, Arlyn (Julie) Busch, Lanette (Marvin) Genskow, Kathy (Mike) Dorsey, and Nancy (Bill) Dittman; brother-in-law, Ronald Rowell; numerous nieces and nephews, and his cat companion Sylvester.
Dean was proceeded in death by his parents, Ronald and Audrey Thiel; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Inez Busch; sisters-in-law: Linda Rowell and Sandy Busch.
Visitation for Dean will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St Agnes Dr, Green Bay on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 9:30 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am with Rev. Scott Malme officiating. Burial will take place at Seymour City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts in Dean's memory may be given to Pilgrim Lutheran Church Capital Campaign Foundation, Samaritan Purse for disaster relief or your favorite charity.
