David Duwayne DeBruin was born in Antigo, Wisconsin on October 4, 1948. He died on August 5, 2025 at age 76, surrounded by family, four months after being diagnosed with esophageal cancer.
Dave spent his early years in a big family where he was especially close to his brothers Rich and Ray. He was adopted at age 10 by Orville and RoseMarye DeBruin. He grew up on their farm in Seymour, Wisconsin with siblings Betty, Steve, Debbie, and Dennis.
Dave graduated from Seymour Community High School in 1967 where he ran cross country and track. He maintained many lifelong friendships with classmates.
Dave met the love of his life Mary Noren in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on June 24, 1977. They were married on July 8, 1978 and settled in Seymour, Wisconsin. They enjoyed golfing and were long-time members of Crystal Springs Golf Course.
Dave formed a partnership with John Kluge in the DeLavel dairy business in which he stayed for much of his career. He retired from a position at Baer Printing in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Dave and Mary had three children: Sarah (Justin) Goetz; Katie (Aaron) Galarowicz; and Josh (Tiffany) DeBruin. He was a devoted dad who was very proud of his children and always ready with fatherly advice and the obligatory dad joke.
Dave and Mary spent their retirement years enjoying many roadtrips-including "Dave tours"-and many Januarys in Florida where they spent time with Mary's brother Mark and his wife Gail.
Dave's favorite thing has been being Grandpa/Bopbop to his eight grandchildren: Austin, Greame, Timothy, Cameron, Evan, Emmy, Zelda, and Edith. His love and care for them, his children and their spouses, and Mary is immeasurable.
Dave will forever be missed and remembered by all those who love him.
Visitation will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 3 pm until the time of the service at 6 pm with Pastor Ty Stoneburner officiating. Dave will be laid to rest privately at a later date.
