Cecilia Martinez (Doxtator), age 83, started her spiritual journey home to Creator's land on Monday, June 23, 2025.
Cecilia was born in Oneida, WI on July 8, 1941 to the late Timmon Doxtator and Cecilia Antone. She was united in marriage to Felix Martinez Cuadrado on June 25, 1966, They lived in Puerto Rico for a while before returning to Wisconsin in the late 1990s. He preceded her in death on August 30, 2024.
Celia Mae, as she was known by family and friends, was the first born of our family. When she was young she moved to Puerto Rico, became a fluent speaker, an awesome cook of Puerto Rican cuisine & developed a love of growing and maintaining beautiful gardens. Her home, wherever that might be, always had an array of plants. She is reminiscent of a tall, sun-kissed Amazonian woman, walking amongst the gentle salty breezes of the ocean air. She returned home to Oneida, during the 1990's where she remained the remainder of her life.
Celia Mae was a strong woman of faith, prayer & spirituality and that provided her comfort throughout her life. She was proud of her Oneida heritage, evident with her earthly surroundings
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Anna John Nursing Home for the love, care & compassion given to Celia Mae. She was affectionately called Cece or Mama by the staff. We are grateful the peace provided to us knowing that she was in good hands.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Frank) Gutierrez; grandchildren: Theresa (fiance'Homer) Gutierrez, Chanel (David) Benson, Gina Jasmer; great-grandchildren: Mitchell Taylor, Alexis Schimmel, Michael Schimmel, Gabriela Gutierrez, Kyla Denny, Savannah Doxtator, Merrick Jasmer, Julian Jasmer; great-great-grandchildren: Rosie & Gracelyn; son, Felix Nathaniel "Pepe" (Amanda) Martinez-Doxtator; and grandchildren: Kayana, Armando, and Juanito; siblings: Brenda (Everett) Black Thunder, David (Michelle) Roberto; special niece, Janee'; and many nieces & nephews.
