Catherine A DeBruin

Catherine A "Kitty"DeBruin passed away peacefully at her home on June 11, 2026 at the age of 77. Kitty was born on September 22, 1948 in Appleton, WI to Herman and Catherine (Nooyen) Schreiber.

Kitty was joined in marriage to Marvin DeBruin on May 4, 1968 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sherwood. Kitty and Marvin raised three children together on the family farm. Kitty enjoyed spending time with needlework, gardening and her many pets. Kitty was a social butterfly and could talk with anyone who would listen.

Kitty is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Marvin; sons Dan (Linda) DeBruin and Andy (Beth) DeBruin, grandma of Holly Schweitzer, Eryn DeBruin, and Levi and Carolyn Debruin, in-laws Wayne DeBruin, Carol Lemke, and Sally Schreiber and special friend Terry Renn. Kitty is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Kitty is preceded in death by her parents, step mother Sarah Schreiber, daughter Patricia "Patty" Schweitzer and son-in-law Jim, siblings Herminna (the late Henry) Renn, Rosie (the late Sylvester "Spike") Nett, Inez (the late Richard "Dick") Everts, Herman Schrieber Jr., and in-laws Linda DeBruin and Dennis Lemke.

A funeral Mass for Kitty will be held on Friday June 19, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church, N2926 State Highway 47, Mackville, Wisconsin. Father Raju Palletti and Deacon Jeff Hofacker will be officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until the time of the funeral services. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Saving Paws Animal Rescue in Kitty's name are appreciated.
