Carol Welhouse

February 28, 1935 — March 2, 2021

Carol passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 2nd, 2021. She was born February 28, 1935 in Appleton, Wisconsin to the late Orval and Gertrude (Sievert) Jens. She was raised on the family farm and attended the one-room school - Industrial Hollow - and was the only student in her grade. Carol is a 1953 graduate of Seymour High School. She was active in music in high school and also played the organ at the Freedom Moravian Church for several years.
After graduation, she attended Neenah-Menasha Vocational School and graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She started her nursing career at Winnebago State Hospital, always proud to have been one of the first five LPN's the state of Wisconsin hired. Carol loved being a nurse and worked full or part-time most of her life. She also worked at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena California, University Hospital in Madison, St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Woodside Nursing Home in Green Bay for 15 years and retired as the Manager of the Home Health Department at Krider Pharmacy in Green Bay. "My God-given gift of helping others has served me well and has brought me so much happiness."
According to Carol, "The greatest blessings in my life were my husband Tom, my high school sweetheart, who I married in 1958, and my four wonderful children and their families who I cherished with all my heart. Tom was my dancing partner and the love of my life. My children brought me so much happiness, as did my grandchildren. May they all remember how much I loved them."
Carol was very involved in any activities that her children were engaged in. Whether leading Girl Scouts, coaching girls' softball, or cheering on the boys' hockey teams, spending time with her family was always her greatest enjoyment.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Thomas; two sons and daughters-in-law: Bradley (Diane) Welhouse of Allen, TX and their children: Austin and Alec, Todd (Anita) Welhouse of Grafton, WI; two daughters and son-in-law: Dawn (Dale) Doney of Sister Bay, WI and their children: Blair (Cale) Allen and Carson, Stacy Jenkins and daughter, Lexie of Burns, WY.
She is survived by a sister, Sharon Nachtwey of Black Creek WI; sister-in-law, Carol Jens of Appleton, WI and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
