Carol Jean Dorn, 78, Seymour, passed away unexpectedly at St. Vincent Hospital on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, with her family at her side. She was born July 23, 1944, to the late Thomas and Erna (Lieberhaber) Palubicki. Carol was raised in Hofa Park and was a graduate of Pulaski High School. She was united in marriage to Charles Dorn on May 8, 1965, and the couple celebrated 55 years of marriage. Charles preceded her in death on March 12, 2021.
Carol was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Seymour. Her greatest passion in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren; Carol loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events and making scrapbooks for them. She also enjoyed word searches, adult coloring books, and watching the Game Show Network. Carol had a green thumb; she enjoyed taking care of her plants and her garden, and made salsa for her family. She enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, Bucks, and NASCAR. She was also proud of her huge bell collection. Carol also liked playing cards and shaking dice with her family and friends.
She is survived by children: Lynn (Rick) Huebsch, Tom Dorn, Lisa (Mike) Story, Dean (Tammy) Dorn, and Dale's special friend, Sandi Allen; grandchildren: Chad and Maria Huebsch, Nick, Taylor, and Brock Story, Dawson Dorn, and Peyton, Mason, and Carson Dorn; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Theresa Palubicki, Theresa Dorn, Cheryl Dorn, Arlene Gauthier, Joan Johnson, Carol (Jerry) McDermid, Roger (Chris) Dorn, Jerry (Paula) Dorn, and Shirley (Dick) VanDeHei; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dorn; son, Dale Dorn; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Vivian (Eugene) Naparalla, John Palubicki, Mary (Adrian) Majewski, Duane "Chubby" (Arlene) Palubicki, Frank Dorn, Delbert Dorn, Richard Dorn, Earl Gauthier, and Deloris Dorn.
Visitation will take place at St. John Catholic Church, 915 Ivory St, Seymour, on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m., Fr. Sengole Dass officiating and Dcn. Rich Matuszak assisting. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family extends a special thanks to the nurses at St. Mary's Hospital ICU and St. Vincent Hospital ICU for all of their attention, concern, and compassion shown to mom.
