Brandon Cooper, Sr.

Brandon J. Cooper, Sr. age 58, of Oneida, unexpectedly began his journey to his next home with heavenly father on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. He was born on December 7, 1967, to the late Lillian Cooper. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Brandon graduated from Seymour High School and considered the community of Seymour his extended family. He continued his educational pursuits first earning a degree in Architecture from NTWC, then in Business Administration from Lakeland University. Using his degrees, he proudly served the Oneida Nation; holding roles as both Project Manager and Operations Analyst - contributing to community projects and business ventures that helped to grow the Nation's infrastructure and economic diversity. Brandon also liked to work with his hands and in the outdoors - to honor his ambition for being outside, he chose to work at Door Co. Co-op.

Many words describe Brandon, but the best ones, the ones that will forever be in our hearts, are father, husband and friend. On Friday nights, Brandon could be found at the local raceway spending time with his son, taking in the roar of the engines. At home, Brandon provided the safety and comforts of sturdy walls and a solid roof - making sure his whole family, including nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, had someone they could rely on when needed. His friendships spanned a wide net and it seemed wherever he went with his family, he never failed to run into someone he knew to share a laugh or a story.

Brandon and Amy were sealed in the Chicago Temple on May 10, 2008 and Brandon's dedication as a father was unwavering in all things. He proudly toured our state's capital three times for Fourth Grade class field trips. He also enjoyed coaching and watching his kids in all sports, including basketball, volleyball and soccer. He took pride in taking care of his family's homestead, meticulous lawn cutting skills and the hummingbirds dancing at his family's front window echo his work.

Brandon has left this world far too soon and he will forever be remembered for who he was to us. We know he has fulfilled his responsibilities here and our family finds comfort in our belief that his passing, carries a purpose beyond our understanding. That in order to lead the way, he was perhaps meant to go ahead.

The amazing moments Brandon shared with us while here in this life will be carried on by his wife, Amelia; children: Lillian (fiance, Laker), Katie, and Brandon, Jr. Patricia Baird, Brandon's surviving sibling will also help carry his memories along with his uncle, Bill Cooper. Brandon is further survived by his loving in-laws Francis and Henrietta Cornelius and his beloved sister-in-law, Lisa (Butch) Summers, Jr. He had many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he adored and who he considered all special.

Brandon is being welcomed home by his departed family, including his mother, Lillian Cooper; grandfather, Absalom Cooper; grandmother, Kate Cooper; brother, George Cooper; nephew, Elliot Cooper; and niece, Sheavonne Cooper.

Visitation for Brandon will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral service for Brandon will take place at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Oneida on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 12:00 pm with visitation beginning at 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be held at Roosevelt Cemetery in Gresham.
