Bernice Eggert

June 19, 1921 — May 12, 2008

EGGERT, BERNICE
Bernice Eggert, age 86, passed away May 12, 2008 at Meadow Wood Apartments in Seymour. She was born June 19, 1921 the only daughter and the youngest of the late John and Emma (Bohl) Maass. She grew up in the Town of Osborn and attended Maple Grove School. Bernice worked at Zwickers until her marriage and enjoyed meeting for lunch with her fellow "Zwicker girls" for many years. On November 27, 1943 she married her sweetheart Clemens J. Eggert at Freedom Moravian Church. He preceded her in death in 1992. Together Clem and Bernice took over and expanded the family farm, once retired they enjoyed spending time with family, friends and grandchildren.
Bernice deeply loved her sons, Mark and Bruce. Her pride in their accomplishments brought her great joy. She dearly loved all her grandchildren and was so glad she got to see and meet her two great-granddaughters. Seeing the kind of adults her five granddaughters and three grandsons grew up to be meant the world to her, not only were her "boys" wonderful but their families were too! She was a lifelong member of Freedom Moravian Church and helped out wherever she was needed.

Bernice is survived by Bruce and Janice Eggert; grandchildren: Stacy and Don Saringer, Neenah; Jody Eggert, Kaukauna; Dana Eggert, Appleton; 2 great-granddaughters: Justyce Eggert and Nevaeh Saringer. Mark and Mary Eggert, grandchildren: Troy Eggert, Appleton; Matthew Eggert, Seymour; Angela Eggert (Special friend Ben Letterman), New Orleans, Louisiana; Alisha Sedo, Milwaukee; Andrew Sedo, Appleton. Brother and sister-in-law, Wallace and June Maass; sister-in-law, Lucille Eggert; Nieces and nephews; Jim and Sandy Maass, Marilyn and Carl Rudolph, Carol and Stan Jens, Ron and Colleen Maass, Jack and Mary Maass, Dave and Tracy Maass, Dale and Brenda Maass, Lloyd and Donna Eggert, Marvin and Carol Eggert, Ruth and Jim Liemann, Joyce and David Haven, special cousins, Delores Muenster and Gerald Bohl, also survived by great-great nieces and nephews in addition to many life long friends and good neighbors. She had a very special bond with Judy Springstroh and her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clemens, her daughter, Bonnie Lou, her brothers and their wives: Harold and Dolly Mass and Milton and Ruth Mass and brother-in-law, Elmer Eggert.

A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
Her husband has full confidence in her
And lacks nothing of value.
She brings him good, not harm.
All the days of her life.
She is clothed with strength and dignity;
She can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom,
And faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household
And does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her:
"Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
But a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Give her the reward she has earned,
And let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
