Arla Helein

Arla V. (Holcomb) Helein, 86, of Black Creek passed away Saturday evening, March 25, 2017, at her home with her family by her side. She was born July 13, 1930, daughter of the late Sydney and Bernice (Huhn) Holcomb. On October 23, 1954, she was united in marriage to Donald Helein in Appleton. He preceded her in death October 1, 2011.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Black Creek, where she sang in the choir and was a member of Women's Guild for many years. Arla enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, where she baked 21 kinds of cookies and over 200 dozen at Christmas time. She also enjoyed sewing, crafts, working alongside her husband on the family farm and most of all the time spent with her family.

Arla is survived by her son, Gary (Virginia) Helein, Seymour; daughters: Sue (Bill) Schneider, Black Creek; Sara (Brian) Biettler, Black Creek; grandchildren: Nick (Diana) Helein, Erica (Jason) Jansky, Brock Helein (fiancAC.e Ashley Franklin), Megan Helein (special friend, William Philipps), John (Carrie) Schneider, Laura Schneider; two great-grandchildren, Rylee and Katelyn Schneider; brother-in-law, Walter Helein; and special niece, Terry.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna and Neva; and one brother, Dennis.

Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 4-8 p.m., and Thursday, March 30, 2017, at St. John's United Church of Christ, Black Creek, from 9:30 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tom Fritsch officiating. Mom, you were unselfish, always helping others. A strong person who would say "You Were a Tuff Old Bird". At the end, all you wanted was some energy. Thanks for being such a good mom. We Love You!
