Adith Buntjer

August 24, 1924 — November 13, 2023

Adith Buntjer (nee Blochowitz) passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, November 13, 2023. A special sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all that knew her. Adie was born in Raymond, Nebraska on August 24, 1924 to her parents Albert and Henny Blochowitz. As a child the family moved to Iowa to continue farming. After high school, Adie moved to Chicago to work and attend secretarial school. In 1945, Adie married the love of her life, Merle Buntjer. They farmed in Iowa until 1959 and then bought a farm north of Black Creek, WI. It was a big move to Wisconsin with five kids, but the family continued to keep in touch with relation back in Iowa through many visits over the years. They retired from farming in the early 1970's. Adie stayed on the farm until her passing, almost 65 years. Adie enjoyed being involved with farming throughout her entire life - later renting out land and keeping up with the farm markets. Adie also was an avid, life-long reader. She also enjoyed playing cards, traveling (visited five countries and much of the U.S.), keeping busy in the kitchen and most of all visiting with family and friends. She always kept up on current politics and forward-thinking ideas. Over the years Adie was part of Ladies Aid at Immanuel Lutheran Church, auxiliary club, homemaker's club, and couples bowling league in Black Creek. She enjoyed many fun family reunions over the years.

Adith is survived by three children: Steven, Mary (Gary) Arndt, Jeanne (Lynn) Kittelson, and four grandchildren: special grandson Shaun (Carrie) Buntjer, Cory Arndt, Erik (Sheena) Arndt, Dena Kittelson (special friend Matt) and also five great-grandchildren: Ty, Amos, Charlotte, Briella, and Lydia in addition to her sister Darlene Eilders and sister-in-law Donna Blochowitz along with many other relatives and friends.

Adith was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Merle; her parents Albert and Henny Blochowitz; and two brothers: Gilbert and Roland. Also in-laws Bud and Esther Buntjer, Ray and Rosie Buntjer, Harry and Evelyn Russell and John Eilders. Adith was also proceeded in death by her beloved children Lori and Lee.

Always in our hearts!
